Thank you for the link because I think it will help put the academic chat into its own seperate context. And yes, the chat with the fan academics was just a launching point for a much bigger fannish discussion about the technology platforms we're using and how they continue to evolve our privacy expectations. Or should I say how the platforms continue to erode our privacy expectations. The move to Tumblr is a big shift because it is predicated on public reblogging without the ability to lock/limit/delete your posts. It is almost as big as the move from print to online. The debates we had about fandom and visibility and privacy back then!
