I see several parts to this:

*the fan or fans who reported Katharine for not having the right to upload her own fanworks while simultaneously claiming her fanwork, Angel in the Dark, was a non-fanwork story.

*the AO3 for removing a fanwork thinking it was an original fic/commercial work. But I guess this speaks to how insignificant Pros fandom has become and how sidelined they are now, that AO3 did not recognize that a fan novel about Bodie and Doyle - The Professionals = a fanwork and not original fic. Plus, there is no commercial market for Bodie and Doyle fiction and the story was clearly not being sold, so it seems odd that they'd then classify it as a commercially published story about the TV show. Maybe because it had been once published in a fanzine decades ago...in which case a lot of our old fanfic is at risk of being removed. Which of course is silly so the whole thing is a mess.

I am hopeful that with the paper trail and explanations we can fix the latter and get the strike against Katharine removed.

one good thing came of this...Suzanne Lovett just gave me the go ahead to put the entire novel with her art, so we can always host it on mediafire for fans to download.
