Like you, I find it deeply troubling that their first action is to nuke from orbit (and additionally in this case, not lift the strike after being given proof that Katharine wrote the story + numerous other hoops). Maybe I've been around fandom too long, but this smacks of some sort of retribution to me.
And then, to find out from your other reply that they allowed PDF files of Jane Land's works via Open Doors, but didn't... oh, I don't know... suggest that maybe Katharine could do the same, at least until the PDF could be re-encoded? I mean, seriously?
