Han/Luke Slash (Star Wars): Elusive Lover
The co-founder and moderator of the of the first Han/Luke slash archive Elusive Lover is contacting Open Doors in the hopes they will migrate her now dead archive to AO3. The site went down in 2009 when the tech person maintaining it drifted away, but Cara is still around and most of the stories are archived on the Internet Archive. It is small so if a manual migration is necessary, it should be easy. In any event, the ownership of the original domain name is now back in fandom hands (pointing to the WayBack Machine for now) so you can peruse it here: http://elusivelover.com/

EL migrated across 3 websites and parts of each site is archived at the WBM - .net .de and .com The.net is now owned by a Japanese dating site. The .de is still available and we just re-registered the .com
I think the plan is asking for help in moving the .com over as that is the most recent version.
You can see the path of the site here: https://fanlore.org/wiki/Elusive_Lover_(Star_Wars_archive)
.de 2000-2004
.net 2004-2008
.com 2009-2014
I don't think this is a question of domain name ownership. It seems more like they sent her a boilerplate message where they assume the site is still active and they will need the site maintainers assistance to access the files. The site has been offline for years and in the past Open Doors has said they are able to port over dead sites as long as the files were still available
