Yahoo Groups Migration Options (10/22/2019)

We are working on a longer version but here is the quick and dirty

For adult and copyrighted content, your best option is Dreamwidth Communities as it allows the widest range and supports transformative use. If your mailing list does not depict any sexual activity or involves copyrighted material, you can spend $220 a year and migrate to Groups.io. You can also start a new, adult mailing list on Google Groups as long as it does not touch on non-con, incest, underage, or bestiality.  Both Dreamwidth and Google Groups will require that you download and store your message archives and files/photos in other locations. Finally, there are chat rooms like Slack or Discord that could be used to start a new fan space without any of the existing content.

Concerned about the requirement for offsite storage of message archives by Google groups - do you have a link with more info on this?
ASCEM which has a huge history is mirrored there and the group admin has chosen not to d/load Yahoo as a result.
