What is this called?
Does fandom have a word or a phrase for people (fans, journalists...) deliberately asking about fanworks/showing fanworks to the actors and other TPTB. Examples: making the actors read fanfic out-loud, showing them fanart in public and observing their reactions, asking actors in front of an audience about slash, sending/giving actors/TPTB fanworks privately, putting actors/TPTB into positions where they are forced to make a statement about fanworks...
This is not necessarily outing, because it is not always tied to a specific fanwork. Ex: someone asking an actor about slash or mpreg or RPF.

Surely there's some German or Yiddish word/phrase that would represent them well? Yutz? Schande?

Oh wait, you meant this specific type of asswipe. I dunno. I think there haven't been enough incidents of the journalist-version to get a term attached to them yet...probably one will pop up after a few more incidents of this occur. For fans...I guess people just lump it in with other general not-widely-approved-of fan behavior towards actors/producers.

So, I'd just say let's look at individual cases, not condemn everyone who openly brings up the topic. Especially if it's not done for laughs or provocation.
