Saving Healthcare In the Next 2 Weeks - Something For Those With Democratic Senators
Do you have a Democratic Senator? Want to save lives (possibly even your own) and help kill Trumpcare? The Indivisible Group has a plan. But we need to light a fire under the Democrats who still keep trying to play nice with the GOP.
The plan - the GOP has chosen to repeal healthcare in secret without any hearings or debate. But the simple majority vote (reconciliation) method allows the Democrats to force a debate by adding amendments. Thousands of them. Each one will have to be read into the record - which will give the US citizens more time to read and understand what is in the healthcare repeal bill and how it will hurt them. Otherwise, the GOP plans to repeal healthcare - without any debates or hearings - by July 4 in time for them to go home for vacation.
OK so what do I do?

Except from the Indivisible website:
“Do you have a Democratic Senator? Then it means they’ve publicly committed to voting against TrumpCare. That’s great—but it’s not nearly good enough. This is a do-or-die moment on the ACA and your Democratic Senator should be doing everything they can to stop this bill from getting through the Senate. Here’s how they can really play hardball to defeat TrumpCare.
REPUBLICANS WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO GET TRUMPCARE THROUGH.
They’re using a strategy of speed and secrecy to pass TrumpCare in the Senate. No hearings, no town halls, and no CBO score. And they definitely aren’t letting anyone read the bill. We need to slow them way down and draw attention to their terrible bill and their terrible process. That way, everyone will know how many people will lose coverage, how many protections will be taken away, and how much premiums are expected to increase.
