Effort to defund Planned Parenthood threatens Obamacare repeal:
Do you live in Wisconsin? Or any other US state (yes, I know, we all live somewhere)
If you live in Wisconsin, call Representative Paul Ryan along with your local Representative (there are 8 for WI) and tell them not to defund Planned Parenthood. And to hold off repealing The Affordable Care Act until there is a replacement plan that budgets for the costs of of repeal* and puts protections in place for people who are currently covered under the ACA.
Basically what they are doing is slipping these changes into the budget approval process to prevent a filibuster. And once both the ACA is gone and Planned Parenthood has been defunded, millions of women will lose access to birth control and cancer screening.
*Congress has refused to include the costs of repeal in the budget. And by repealing the Affordable Care Act and defunding Planned Parenthood at the same time through the "budget" process, there will be no negotiating or ability to reduce the harm to women across America.

You can call their DC or local offices: http://ift.tt/2jiuVKc
The other reps for Wisconsin: http://ift.tt/
They say that as few as 20 calls a day to your rep can make a difference. Be prepared to give your name and address.phone number so they know you are a constituent.
And if you live in other States, please do the same. Call both your Representative and both of yur State Senators. If you only have time for one, call your House Representative. Even if your Rep and Senator are Democratic. But especially if they are not.
Your reps: http://www.whoismyrepresentative.com/ Best to try calling the local state office. They say as few as 20 calls a day can make a difference.
Background: on the budget crisis the GOP is creating:
"But Republicans tucked a provision into the plan which bars the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) from counting a dramatic spike in deficit spending spurred by an ObamaCare repeal. Language in the resolution bars the CBO from tallying the cost of any ObamaCare repeal bill that bloats deficit spending by more than $5 billion over the next decade and $20 billion over the next four decades."
”The decision to add the controversial Planned Parenthood language, which is opposed by most Democrats, could have a major impact on getting the Affordable Care Act repeal legislation through the Senate because supporters need the backing of at least 50 of their 52 members and two pro-choice senators, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, won’t commit to approving the bill with the Planned Parenthood provision in it…
Further complicating matters for Senate GOP leaders is Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, who announced this week he plans to vote against the Obamacare repeal legislation because the underlying budget measure it is attached to doesn’t balance and adds to the deficit. If Murkowski, Collins and Paul all voted against the budget bill, it would be enough to torpedo the Obamacare repeal legislation".
