I've been combining my vid show playlists (thank you to every convention that has ever offered their playlists to their convention attendees in any format ...and an even huger thank you to those using Google  Sheets or Excel or some format that can be converted).

The Two Big Vidding Conventions

Vividcon (2002-2018), a fan run vidding convention showed approximately 4,737 vids.

VidUKon (2008-present), a similar vidding convention based in the UK has shown approximately 2,248 fanvids

You can find Vividcon's fanvid database here

VidUKon has combined its database with other conventions that run on the Conline.Club platform. You cannot search by convention year, but the dataset allows you to search by Fandom, Vidder and Title

Other Conventions
Below is the list of conventions where I am trying to gather the lists of fanvids that were shown - it ranges from 1979 through the present

Have any fanvids or AMVs ever been shown at any of the Worldcons. Perhaps in a fandom panel?

Important note about online conventions:
1. Find out what their 'con-time' is - if the convention is held in the US and you are based in the EU, you may miss programming
2. Push the organizers to be upfront exactly what will be recorded so that if you are in another time zone, you can watch later. Many will be vague say "some things will be available for playback" or "we will decide this 2 days before the convention starts".  But in many cases all that will be available will be the vidshow or a 20 minute pre-recorded slideshow presentation. Which is fine for many, just be aware.

Also, most of the conventions below will be using Discord to conduct all convention chat. Many will be using Zoom as well. Check to see you computer and Internet can handle the bandwidth and programs

Finally, the conventions that will be hosting hybrids - online and in person -- will be doing this for the very first time. If the convention membership is small (under 150 ), you can expect activity and options to be weighted either towards in person or online because there may not be enough members doing both.

[community profile] fanworks posted: FanWorks Con AO3 collection is up, and digital memberships are still available!
We now have an AO3 collection for any digital works submitted to (or created at) FanWorks!

FanWorks 2019 AO3 Collection

Works added to this collection should be limited to those that made their debut at FanWorks (we know many, many vids showed this year, but only premiering vids should be included in the collection). The collection is open and unmoderated, so works can be added to them without a wait time.

As a reminder, zine submissions shouldn't be posted widely until two weeks after the con; those works can be posted starting Monday, September 2nd.

*

A clarification on digital membership:

Digital memberships can still be purchased on the website. We'll leave this open until the weekend; if you want a digital membership and don't yet have one, please purchase it by Friday night.

All con members will have access to digital con materials (such as streaming vidshows) for at least 90 days after the con.
