I really did try to answer this -- I have been slashing them since I was 12 -- but the level of detail that was requested was far beyond what I can remember from about 50+ years ago.

I often wrote in generalities and replied "don't remember" for a few. If they want an accurate representation from older fans they will need to be satisfied with the reality of being decades in fandom.

They also didn’t list Usenet or any of the old online services as options for fannish engagement, which struck me as really weird

I answered to the best of my ability, but man, there are some assumptions going on there, and I was slightly startled by the presence of mental health help-line numbers at the bottom of the survey. (And annoyed, given that the survey participants will be international in nature.)
