Are You..Or Have You Ever Been...A Member Of A Yahoo Group?

If you were a member of YahooGroups, you can save every Group that you ever belonged to (assuming you are still a member).  You submit a request to Verizon/Yahoo Groups, they respond in 48-72 hours and give you zipped files to download. You can submit those files to us for delivery to Open Doors.

Requesting Your Yahoo Groups Before Deletion

You can request your Yahoo Groups directly from Yahoo. It will take several days for them to prepare and requests must be submitted and the files downloaded before the Dec 14, 2019 deletion date.

What will you get?

1. All of the Groups that you have joined (and still are a member of)

2. Every Message sent by anyone to those Groups.

3. Messages will be in a mbox format (you can read messages with Thunderbird Email Program or Via MboxViewer or  Sylpheed)

4. Only some of the Files and No Photos 

5. Links (if the Group used them)

Databases and polls are not included.

All Groups will be compressed into one single zipped file.

Yahoo will only include Groups you are a member of up to the date of your request.

How long and how big?

One Yahoo Group member was a member of 17 Yahoo Groups. It took Yahoo a few days and the zipped download file was 1.1 GB   Photos and some files were missing.

Another member: Member of 3 Groups, the download was 36MB - Photos and files were missing.

Warning: Do not rely on this as your sole backup of your Yahoo Group data . If you want a complete backup of all your Files and Photos, we suggest using the free Windows program PGOffline.
