Take a walk through Star Trek fandom history

 For the past two years, fans have been gathering on discord every week to watch original Star Trek episodes, with selected television ads from the era and chat about the show as if we were watching it all for the first time in the 1960s.

Since we have reached the year of 1968, Star Trek fanzines have been appearing and tonight's event consists of Gideon Marcus reading from some of these early newsletters. If you'd like to join, there is a Discord invite below. I encourage people to also sign up to the mailing list because each week you're informed is to what will be read or watched

Wow! I'm old enough to have watched & loved original Trek on it's original TV run & this sounds like amazing fun.

There are two discord chat channels - one channel is 'in period' (aka 1968) and the other where we can comment as normal.

Fascinating! Thanks for the invite, it sounds like fun to this AncientOne. I remember recording original ST episodes on my little portable tape recorder, since there was no guarantee that I would be able to catch a rerun during the summer reruns.
