OK, trying to beat my exhaustion into submission, this may be the first of two Supernatural fic recs this week.
Works in Progress are risky (what if the author never finishes them?)- but if they are done well, and incorporate plot and action along with character development, they are so much more satisfying. So I give you several long and substantial works in progress. Let's encourage the authors to finish them. Use the links or tags entries to keep track of the stories as they are updated.
In Reverse by Sodakey (gen)
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2787883/1/
This story is technically complete but the author is posting it in parts and cleaning it up
Summary: After Dean's near-death experience in Faith, all Sam wants to do is keep his brother safe. Dean demands that Sam give him some room. When Dean and Sam run into Sam's friends from college during an investigation, Sam's friends misunderstand what is going on and the nature of the brother's relationship - with possibly deadly consequences.
Brothers and Strangers by janissa11 (gen?)
I recommended this one in an earlier post.

Cup of Silence by janissa11 (gen, amnesia)?

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2837218/1/

It Does Not Mean You Can Explain The Ocean by rageprufrock (gen - I think)
http://rageprufrock.livejournal.com/tag/explain+the+ocean
Summary: They don't have names anymore, these gods who speak. “"There are noises in the cosmic grapevine about three women in Savannah, about prophesy and oracle and older gods than even they know the words for, and Dean hears about it from a waitress at the counter of a diner off the side of a North Carolina freeway."
Second Sight Series by maygra (mostly gen/some slash)

Rest here (scroll down): http://wordsmiths.net/Maygra/
