I normally don't go in for extensive vidder's notes (so I won't). Suffice it to say, this vid would not have been made without the encouragement of my friends who counseled me through health induced changes in my editing methods that were both painful and frustrating.

I've been trying to download this, but I can't access your site for some reason. Server issues?

Got it! Sorry for the late feedback - life has been ridiculously hectic lately. Hope you and [livejournal.com profile] xlorp are feeling better, or at least getting some of that extra help you need.

Oh man. You're never going to stop being an absolute source of inspiration. This was such an amazing journey. (Aptly named, then.) The mood of it is just incredible. There are too many fabulous moments to name, but in particular I LOVED that connection at 0:35, the way Gandalf zooms up at 1:21, the way the mask at 1:45 is composed. Oh, the flick of the whip at 2:00 is just amazing. The "cascading stars" shot at 2:20 is just unbelievably gorgeous, and I loved how the fireworks sparkled on the twinkly notes at 2:36. Generally, I really admire the way you can hold onto a clip for a long period of time, really letting the emotion soak through. Oh, so gorgeous.

thank you so much for the feedback - glad the motion and the timing/length of the clips worked for you. I made this vid with the same vidder who did Data's Dream a multi-media vid (which is a vid you have to see and it is the one that inspired me to become a vidder). She has been vidding for....over 15 years?? now.

Wow, that's amazing. Would I be able to grab a URL off you for Data's Dream? :)

my website- same place you got the LOTR vid, look under Multi-Media vids. I helped her remaster the video a few years back.

Wow, that's really a very beautiful vid. The clip choices, the timing, the music all work together so well. And I love how you present the entire world of LoTR. It really shows the, hmmm, hugeness of the journeys that take place, if that makes any sense?

nods, that is it exactly - it reminded me of how I felt when I first read the LOTR trilogy at 12 - ths huge amazing world, swirling with history and events. all boiled down to the experiences as seen through the eyes of a group of hobbits.

This is gorgeous--I don't know how I missed it when it first came out. It so *expansive* even as it revolves around Frodo.

thank you! we wanted it to have focus - but also be expansive since the world in the novels/movies is large and rich.
