cofax7 reminded me a few weeks ago that this novel was on my reading list. I am so glad I finally took the time to read it. Not just because it references one of my favorite books (To Kill A Mockingbird). This is a rare story that gives the original female character (did I mention this was het story?) and Sam and Dean all equal weight. They are well rounded characters and by chapter 4 I was sucked into the story and *needed* to keep reading to find out where it was going. We have Sam angst and Dean angst and love and sacrifice and hot sex and damaged souls and hopeful redemption ...and.... go forth and read!

Summary: Dean frowned and shook his head. Even if he wanted to, how could he start to explain what Sam was these days? He wasn't sure himself. He knew what Sam had been before the war. He had a pretty good idea of what Sam'd been during. And he knew Sam wasn't either of those things anymore.
